Our stay at the La Laiterie part of Labarde was very pleasant. Run very professionally, the facilities are impeccably clean, the cottage was well equipped, it was perfect! Highly recommended.

The best accommodation we've ever had

*****

The location is wonderful: well equipped, well located, hosts are very friendly. It is ideal for families, we were there with our little baby and everything was adapted and equipped for children. It is the best holiday accommodation we've ever had. We will plan other holidays there and for a longer period of time.

About Us

About Us

Labarde has been a Labour of love since arriving in 2005. Never ones to turn down a challenge we left our jobs in Manchester and set about renovating the main dairy barn at Labarde into three holiday cottages. After a little bit of work the ruin that was once where the calves were nursed became our permanent home.

Since then we have spent our time building a Lego empire, eating lots of chocolate, sipping a little wine on our terrace and immersing ourselves in the local way of life.  (We do try and squeeze in a bit of work between all of that).

A short walk from our village, Bourlens. Past the plum orchards and the fields of sunflowers leads you to Labarde. We are in the beautiful, untouched, Lot et Garonne department of South West France between the towns of Villeneuve sur Lot and Agen.

Where are we?

Set in over 6 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland, with far reaching views across the pool of vine covered hills, ancient woodland and prune orchards that make you want to just stand and stare.

Birds of prey rising on the thermals overhead, early morning deer grazing on the lawns and a whole host of wildlife waiting to be discovered.

We are ideally located between the towns of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Agen and Cahors, to explore one of the most unspoilt regions of France.
Our local village, Bourlens, with its 11th century church and traditional narrow streets, is just a short walk away and the beautiful Bastide town of Tournon d’Agenais is just a little further. Here you will find a lovely restaurant, a number of bars and some essential shops. The nearest supermarkets are in Fumel, a short 10 minute drive away.

Relatively untouched the Lot et Garonne is perfect for exploring the real France, rich in culture and history, close to the Dordogne and Lot departments. Famous for its warm climate, sunflower fields, prune orchards and lush green countryside., where most days revolve around sitting at a table and enjoying great company, delicious food and lots of wine.

How to get here

By Road

Driving is a popular way to get here, particularly in the Summer months. Some of the summer holiday weekends can be busy but generally the motorways are well maintained and quiet. The drive can be done in 8 hours from Calais but a more leisurely pace will take you around 10 hours. Some choose to have an over night stop. Orléans is a popular place to find a bed for the night, just South of Paris.

By Air

There are many regular flights from most of the low cost airlines into our local airports from all areas of the UK.

Bergerac     1 hour drive

Toulouse     1.5 hour drive

Bordeaux    2 hour drive
